Part-Time Assistant   (Onsite in Kamloops)

We’re seeking an energetic, creative individual to join our team and contribute to amplifying the voices of local businesses. This is a great position for someone looking to build their resume with relevant professional experience, gain industry contacts, and learn from a well-respected women-owned agency in the Okanagan. Our goal with this position is to help mentor someone whose end goal is to start their own marketing and social media business or who wants to go on to work with larger agencies.
Position Overview:

As a Part-Time Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in our mission, handling administrative tasks and executing marketing and social media strategies that support local ventures. This part-time contract position is perfect for those who thrive in creative environments and are eager to grow their social media management and content creation skills—all while working with some amazing local businesses and a passionate, supportive team!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Basic Administration: Update proposals and documentation, answer emails, and schedule meetings to ensure seamless communication and organization.
  • Social Media Assistance: Schedule content, curate photos, assist with creating content, and execute social media strategies, ensuring a consistent and vibrant online presence for OKGN Co. and our customers. Work with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest.
  • Community Management: Support client-customer interactions on digital platforms, fostering positive engagement and community growth.
  • Client Touchpoints: Maintain regular email communication, schedule and participate in meetings, etc, ensuring clients feel valued and informed.
  • Photoshoot Assistance: Help plan and schedule photoshoots, provide on-site assistance, and contribute to creating compelling visual content.
Who's This Job Perfect For:
  • Someone passionate about social media and who wants to learn how to make their love for it a job or start their own business.
  • And someone currently in university or who has recently graduated from communications who wants to gain experience and build out their resume with awesome projects. 
  • Or someone who has always wanted to turn their side hustle helping small businesses with their marketing and social media into a “real job.” 
What We're Looking For:
  • An (almost) fanatic passion for social media. At the end of the day, this job centers around the consumption, creation, and desire to work with social media.
  • A love for supporting local.
  • While you don’t need professional experience working in social media for this position, being a frequent social media user is a must! At OKGN Co., we strongly believe that we can teach anything but passion and a strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Canva, social media platforms, scheduling tools, Honeybook or editing software is a huge bonus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work both in a team and independently.
